Alex Bowman is a driver at the hot-seat in Hendrick Motorsports despite the Chevy driver consistently denying the claims. All three of his teammates Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson and William Byron has secured playoffs by winning races in 2024, with the latter winning thrice. Bowman on the other hand hasn’t won race in over two years.

Alex Bowman was in the fight for victory this Sunday at Dover but wasn’t able to pull of one and ended the day with a P8 finish. During the race he had a heated back and forth with his spotter Kevin Hamlin. It occurred towards the end of Stage Two where he finished P2 behind teammate Kyle Larson. The No:5 team was able score the win over the No:48, who was faster by aeroblocking.

Bowman was furious with his teammate for blocking him and denying the stage win. He vented his frustration via the team radio, complaining to his spotter about. Kevin Hamlin wasn’t happy with his driver complaining about his teammate and remined him that Larson won’t move out of the way for him in race. Bowman replied asking him to shut up. Both were just frustrated due to tough race and nothing personal seems to have said via the radio.

Alex Bowman detailed how tough the situation was

After the race, the HMS star spoke to the media about the battle with Kyle Larson. He pointed out that he was struggling to move around Larson due to aero block and with Denny Hamlin just behind him he had nowhere to go. But he has already moved on from the drama.

I was a little too tight at the top. I needed to get around (Larson) because I wasn’t versatile enough to move back down. And then it got to be me more defending (Hamlin for second place] than anything. Bummer there. After that, we just weren’t as good. OK day. Not the greatest but we’ll move on.
Alex Bowman said.

He also talked about any potential beef with Kevin Hamlin and asserted that there isn’t such a thing. Bowman and his crew will be looking forward to redeem himself from all the frustration next week at Kansas and will continue their attempt to get back on victory lane.
