Hendrick Motorsports’ Alex Bowman ended his Cup winless streak that has lasted over 80 races on Sunday at Chicago. He took advantage of the early race DNF of Shane van Gisbergen and Kyle Larson on his way to the win. The significant speed 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick lost after a contact with the wall helped HMS driver as well.

The victory was really significant for the driver as his Hendrick Motorsports seat was on the line during this time. Many were calling for his replacement from the iconic No:48 car and him being the most hated HMS driver among the fans didn’t help as well. Alex Bowman took the win as an opportunity for him take a dig at all his haters.

Bowman while talking about his win revealed that he has a lot of bottles sitting on the counter that he has kept since 2022 to celebrate a win, so he is going to enjoy this one. He then took a dig at his “haters” who wanted him out of HMS by saying cheers to them. It seems he really wanted says these words for a long-time.

But I've got a couple bottles that were bought early in 22 that were like, the next win we're gonna drink these, and they've been sitting on the counter way too f*** long. So yeah, so to everybody that said I couldn't win and don't deserve to be at Hendrick Motorsports and all that bullsh*t cheers to you.

Alex Bowman is proud of his team after the impressive win

While talking about his impressive day, Alex Bowman admitted that he is really proud of his team. He asserted that the win means a really lot tom me and he admitted that it is really special for him to finally secure a race win in a road course, though Chicago isn’t technically a road course.

I am just really proud of this team, and it means a lot to win here and finally get a win at a road course. To do something like this is really special.

The start drives also thanked his long-time sponsor Ally and everyone at HMS for the support in the tough times. He shared special thanks to Jeff Gordan and Rick Hendrick.

The win has given Bowman the extra momentum and confidence to make his 2024 Cup season better. It would be interesting to see how the reminder of the years would playout for him after the triumph.
