Brad Keselowski has suffered from a disappointing start to the 2026 season. The RFK Racing star suffered from a femur fracture following a skiing trip. Though Keselowski’s road to recovery is going as expected, he has yet to clear medical to obtain his NASCAR license. After missing the exhibition match in Bowman Gray, the 41-year-old might not be able to return to racing at the Daytona 500 either.
A couple of days ago, Brad Keselowski revealed that he was on the course of recovery and had a medical test with NASCAR officials. However, because of the snowstorm in and around his area, the test was shifted to a later date. Now, Keselowski has once again taken to social media to provide the latest update on the matter and how his condition hasn’t been green-flagged yet to race.
The Daytona 500 is scheduled on 16th February. In a recent post on X, Brad Keselowski revealed that the final approval test was shifted. Keselowski highlighted that the test was shifted to Monday because of bad weather conditions. This could mean further delays in approval for the RFK Racing star as he hoped to return to racing at the points-paying race in Daytona.
Though nothing is certain yet, Brad Keselowski and the fans certainly hope for a miracle. Until now, nothing seems to be going Keselowski’s way. The Daytona 500 is one of the most iconic races in NASCAR, and it will award points to the drivers as well. If he returns in time, he can start the season on a great note and remain in contention for fighting for the championship under the Chase format. Anyway, time will tell about how the 41-year-old recovers from the injury and receives approval from NASCAR.

Brad Keselowski reveals having ‘titanium’ in his leg
Brad Keselowski underwent surgery to fix the fracture and had a titanium plate lodged in his leg. The 41-year-old then began his long road to recovery, but he had constant motivation and was able to spend some quality time with his family. Now, Keselowski opened up on how he was recovering well and was on a rehab plan that was supposed to get him back up again by the Daytona 500.

Notably, the Daytona 500 race is still more than a week away. Brad Keselowski’s test on Monday means he will still have enough time to hit the ground running much before the race weekend. Keselowski noted that he was recovering well from a major injury and was on a significant rehab plan. If all went according to plan, the RFK Racing star would be back at Daytona.
I’m not great, but I’m good, I’m recovering really well. I had a major injury. I’m on a significant rehab plan to be back for the Daytona 500. … I’m now made of titanium in my leg. I’m ready to get back to Daytona. … This is a minor setback.
Brad Keselowski told FOX Sports.
The 2026 season has begun in full-swing and all teams and drivers are looking stronger than ever. RFK Racing started the season on an extremely positive note following Ryan Preece‘s maiden Cup Series victory. The team is now looking forward to Brad Keselowski’s return and continuing to achieve great results with the amazing duo. For now, Keselowski’s full focus should be on recovery from the injury and returning to the sport as soon as possible.
