The NASCAR Cup garage is celebrating the two weeks off from racing, which they desperately needed.  Just like many sports fans around the world, they too are using the time to enjoy worlds best athletes in action at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The mega event was one of the reasons for the extended break given to drivers.

2012 Cup champion and RFK Racing co-owner/driver Brad Keselowski had some more things to celebrate in the off week alongside cheering for team USA. His lookalike from Norway, Markus Rooth won the Gold Medal in the physically demanding Decathlon event surpassing the favorites in an impressive fashion.

A NASCAR fans shared image on Rooth after winning the gold, and joked by congratulating the driver for his Olympics’ gold. He looked more like a young Keselowski who wasn’t bald. The No:6 Ford driver who is very active on social media came across the post and shared it with his fans with a hilarious caption.

Markus Rooth didn’t expect to win the gold at the Olympics

The U-23 European champion wasn’t one of the favourites to win coming into the season. But after a solid fist day, he quietly climbed up the point ladder and surprised his rivals to win the event, by dominating most of the events on he second day.

I just won gold, I did not expect this. I woke up this morning feeling great after an amazing first day. I just kept adding on to that… I'm so lucky that I had my friend to run with me. We tried to get a steady pace. I was exhausted. It's mentally hard. I just ran as hard as I could. It was great.

Keselowski, who has secured his place in the playoff with an impressive win would be hoping that he can replicate the results secured by his lookalike and win the championship this season. It would be interesting to see if he can win the title, as the playoffs creeps in.
