The 2024 NASCAR Cup season came to a close with Joey Logano’s championship win a week ago and the teams have already started working on the preparations for the 2025 season. Ford team RFK Racing has started their perpetrations with a new driver announcement, as they are set to field a third full-time in 2025 as previously planned.
Ryan Preece, who drove for Stewart Haas Racing this season and last year, is set to drive the No:60 Ford Mustang with Brad Keselowski’s team. While explaining the reason behind signing Preece, who failed to match expectations in the last two seasons, RFK president Steve Newmark pointed out that they were impressed by the prospects of Preece owing to his successfully career in the grassroots level.
Ryan Preece is who we identified from day one when discussing this third entry, and his young talent from the grassroots level all the way up to the Cup Series is something that excites us moving forward.
Steve Newmark said in a statement.
The team president pointed out that everyone at RFK is looking forward to work with Preece and start a new chapter with the No:60 team. The primary sponsorship of Kroger is also a bog deal for the championship aspiring team.
On behalf of the entire team at RFK, we can’t wait to roll out the No. 60 with Ryan Preece, and our larger Kroger partnership encompassing all three of our Ford Mustangs, in 2025.
Steve Newmark added.
RFK Racing is excited about the new sponsorship deal
The major reason behind RFL Racing fielding the third car is massive sponsorship they landed from Kroger, who till last season was sponsoring Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at JTDG Racing. The new deal has helped them to fulfil their growth objective and has given them a baseline to be competitive in the 2025 season.

First, we’d like to thank Kroger and the vision of Tad and Jodi [Geschickter], without which we wouldn’t be in the position of growing with a third car in 2025 and beyond. Their commitment to us on behalf of Kroger has not only allowed us to fulfill our growth objectives in ways we’ve long desired, but also to continue to push the envelope…
Steve Newmark said.
The comments from Newmark suggest that the team is confident with the new project and is hopeful that they can have a strong 2025 season with the new trio in their garage. It will be interesting to see how good Ryan Preece can perform next season with the new team.
