One of the most dramatic moments from last weekend’s Cup race at Darlington was the clash between 23XI Racing Tyler Reddick and RFK Racing’s Chris Buescher. The duo got together with the just ten laps left in the race while fighting for the lead and both were forced to pit due to their tier getting cut during the contact.
The clash didn’t end there. As soon as race got over, Buescher got out of his car and charged towards Tyler Reddick. He grabbed him and proceeded to have a heated confrontation. The TRD driver apologized to his Ford rival for the clash while Buescher was reminding him how he ruined his chances of winning a race.
Now veteran NASCAR spotter Brett Griffin via Door Bumper Clear podcast gave his verdict on the incident and pointed out that Reddick was kind of being an idiot at the point as he was the one who is responsible for the incident. He also added that Buescher is struggling to understand how he is getting run over overtime he is such situation.
This guy I’ve never seen him pissed off holy pissed off, holy fu***ng pissed off like he grabbed him… Tyler’s an idiot, okay? If Tyler would have just calmed down for a hot second, coz Buescher was in the fence and he went up there and smoked him anyway. As for Buescher, he just struggled to understand how they always end up getting run over without hitting somebody else first.Brett Griffin said via DBC.
Tyler Reddick made the move out of desperation
While talking about the aggressive move that resulted in the crash, Tyler Reddick claimed that it was a move made out of desperation as he recked he would get a second chance if he missed the opportunity. He took the risk, but it didn’t playout as he expected.
Just with when I was looking at it at the time, the options I thought I had as a table. I thought that was going to be the last opportunity for me. I thought that was the last opportunity to make that move.Tyler Reddick said.
At the end of the day, it was just the results of hard racing between two drivers who were hungry for victory. Buescher being on the losing side for two consecutive weekends became extra frustrated at the moment and it caused his confrontation.
