23XI Racing’s star driver Bubba Wallace came into this Sunday’s race at the Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol as the racer with the most momentum, following his impressive Brickyard 400 win from the previous week. But his dream of finally producing a strong run, without pressure of winless streak, was almost ruined.
The No:23 Toyota driver had some luck left from Indianapolis Motor Speedway on his side, as he finished the race at P6, after racing for a significant time in the event at P32 two laps behind the leading pack. But Bubba Wallace was able to get back to the leading lap, and then the top 10, with the help of his team.
Talking about the whole weekend post-race, the three times Cup Series winner, admitted that the car 23XI Racing brought into the weekend wasn’t one of his likings. They decided to go for a set-up similar to Richmond, which didn’t work out last time. But he was fortunate the car had enough to get him back to front and keep his momentum alive at the end.
It was interesting because I told them, man, don’t bring this setup because this was a little reminiscent of Richmond. We’ve always said that every time we come here. I mean it ran good at the end, so there’s some things to take from there.

Further talking about the point, Bubba Wallace asserted that the major reason for his success at Iowa was his crew at the end, as they were able to efficiently fix the car with the toe-link issue during the race and helped him to gain speed. He asserted that the race featured the race was proof of strong team effort of 23Xi Racing.
I thought our crew did an amazing job, fixing all the repairs. I said earlier this weekend we’ve got to expose our weaknesses, and I think we put everybody to the test here today. And it’ll be nice to see where we did fall, because I didn’t see anything there. But hell of a team effort all day.

Earlier talking about the race in the same conversation, Bubba Wallace pointed out that unlike the weekend’s before he was pretty relaxed the whole race despite the tough battle mid-race. The team has fight really hard to get into the top-10, mainly due to the fact that they were able to get the car fixed fast enough.

I was just relaxed the whole time, really. And it’s interesting how things shake out. We had a up-and-down day, as you mentioned. Was ready to just debrief the whole car mid-race and just figure out what we need to do to wholesale it. Had our damage, had our issues and just really fought hard to get our All True Camry back in the top 10.

One major positive behind the race weekend is the fact that Bubba Wallace was able to finish inside the front-row, bouncing back from the tough start to the race. The 23XI Racing team should use the race as an example for how they should come back in races, when they are in really spot in the remaining races of the 2025 season.
