23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace is one of the most recognizable names in the NASCAR community. He is among the most divisive drivers in the grid owing to the limelight he gets despite not being the best racer on the grid. Him being the poster boy of diversity in the sport also makes him a controversial figure among the fans.
So, it’s no surprise when Bubba Wallace revealed that he has been avoiding the using social media since the race at Pocono is July. This seems the right decision considering the 23XI driver has a tendency to take negative comments seriously and be more critical on himself. Being away from it might have helped him to be more focused on racing as well his family with Wallace Jr soon coming to the world.

At Daytona ahead of the Coke Zero Sugar 400 he explained the decision be away from social media. He explained that he stopped using it because of getting caught in other people life and the toxic comments, though it’s fun to be there. He misses posting his phots he takes from race weeks, but has found a new best friend in YouTube.
Oh it’s been so nice, it’s been so nice. Just being caught up in other people’s lives and start comparing. Man I want … Just, besides from the toxic comments, you know, social media is just a lot at times. I do miss the photography side of it, you know, posting all that stuff, but it’s just way better for the mental. YouTube is my best friend.Bubba Wallace told Fox Sports.
Bubba Wallace playoff chase momentum was ruined last week
Coming into last weekend’s race at Michigan, Bubba Wallace was the most consistent driver alongside his teammate Tyler Reddick who won the race. But his day was ruined by a wreck late in the race involving Kyle Larson.
The incident put him outside the top 16 in the championship table and has put him a tough spot with just two more regular season races left. Teardown Podcast’s Jordan Bianchi explained the situation of Wallace perfectly last week.
You have to feel for Bubba Wallace….The team’s been running really well… They come here, qualify well, race well—great move, by the way, to take that lead in stage one….They probably were going to finish in the top two, three, maybe win the stage, and they lose that. But really, they put themselves in a position to leave here with a top 10 finish at a minimum, if not a win. And then you get caught up in a wreck with it you had nothing to do with.Jordan Bianchi said.
So, coming into Daytona, he is hoping to at least secure a podium finish if not a race win. He would also be hoping that a driver outside the ones who has already won a race secure a surprise triumph at Daytona, as it would ruin his playoff chances.
