23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace and Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson are two of the most recognizable and marketable faces in the NASCAR Cup garage. Over the years the duo has been part of multiple incidents, on and off the tracks, including some high-profile run ins. This has influenced many in the racing community to suggest they have a bad relationship.

But according to Bubba Wallace it is far from the truth. He pointed out while talking about Kyle Larson’s 2024 Indy 500 attempt, that he respects the hell out of the 2021 Cup champion. He also joked that he would have hailed the Chevy driver as the Greatest of All Time, if he had won the pole at Brickyard.

People can make up all the stories they want about me and Larson — I respect the hell out of him and if he would have gotten the pole, I would have given him the title of the greatest of all-time.
Bubba Wallace told Matt Wallace.

Larson’s Indy 500 qualifying debut went extremely well after an initial hiccup due to engine issues with his McLaren challenger. He made it into the fast 12 and had a shot at securing the pole, but his pace was only able to get him a P5 start position for the main spectate on May 26, next Sunday.

I’ll save the title for maybe next weekend when he wins it. But I was sitting in the lounge pulling for him. He made the Fast 6, so it’s just cool watching him… We’re not surprised by it.
Bubba Wallace said.

The entire NASCAR grid has huge respect for Kyle Larson and is looking forward to see the foe/friend to shine in the iconic race. It will be interesting to see if Larson will be able to pull of the victory that has never been achieved.
