The No:23 Toyota Camry has had a strong start to the season, before his day at COTA was ruined because of a reck and the same fate awaited Bubba Wallace this Sunday at Phoenix Raceway. His car crashed into the wall on the 266 laps of the race, forcing him to retire from the race with a disappointing P29 finish.

On the third stage of the race, Bubba Wallace’s right front tire blew, and he slammed hard onto the wall on alp one. It was later discovered that the incident occurred because of the brakes blue. The breaks have been one of the major issues TRD has been facing in the Next-Gen era and it has ruined their drivers’ races multiple times in the past. He is disappointed for losing a solid run.

Brakes blew out. Unfortunate. Didn’t have any sign leading up to that last restart that we had. … Bummer. Didn’t have the best of start or best of mid-race for our Leidos team but feel like we finally got our big break there cracking the top 10.

Bubba Wallace told Fox Sports.

He was getting confident about the car, before the incident occurred and admitted that it’s unfortunate his strong start to the season is turning into disappointments. He is pissed off about how things played out as he executed well the whole day.

[We were] making something of it, trying to survive and just got ripped out from right underneath us. Unfortunate, I hate it. Had such a strong start to the season but all in all, to be pissed off about it, it is what it is. Felt like I executed all day and just wasn’t in the cards.

Bubba Wallace added.

Bubba Wallace is already focused on Las Vegas

Despite the disappointing result, Bubba Wallace sees some positives about the weekend. He believes the team as well as him executed really well, this gives him confidence going into the upcoming Vegas weekend, where he will look into chase for the win.

The team executed. I felt like I executed all day. Just wasn’t in the cards. So, we’ll go back home and fly back out here to go to Vegas and go have some fun.

Bubba Wallace said.

The upcoming weekend at Vegas is special for Wallace as he is set to race with Airforce sponsored car with special paint-scheme. So, it would be interesting to see if they he can bounce back and produce solid performance next-Sunday.
