The NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan was one of the best chances Bubba Wallace had to secure enough points to make it into the playoff. He came into the race P15 in the championship table and good momentum on his side. The No:23 Toyota team was fast from session one, and was running inside the top-5 almost all-time before an unfortunate wreck.
Bubba Wallace was caught up in huge crash coming into Turn-4 late in the race, that involved Kyle Larson, who also had one of the fastest cars of the day. The 23XI driver tried everything he knew to get out of the chaos, but incurred damage that was enough to ruin his whole race. Chris Buescher, Christopher Bell, Todd Gilliland and Chase Briscoe were also affected because of the crash.
While talking about the incident and result, Wallace showed optimism and said that they are still in the game with tow more races left in the season. Though he is P17 in the points table he has hopes going into last races. He is disappointed that he couldn’t finish ahead with the fast car that was fielded for him by the 23XI crew.
Two races left, we’re still in the game, so throw Michigan away and on to Daytona. Our guys did a good job … to show up here with speed and made it better from practice. Had good track position all day and it just didn’t work out.Bubba Wallace told NBC.

The TRD driver was quick to credit his team for the impressive car he got, as it got him in the championship fight. He also admitted that the result didn’t really matter for him as, if it wasn’t a race win, it wasn’t going to be big point haul for him.
Guys did a good job, that’s all I could ask for. Show up with speed, be competitive, put your name in the hat, that’s what we did so thank you…Two more left. Didn’t matter if we ran second today, still got to more left.Bubba Wallace told Fox Sports.
One thing the team should be happy about is the fact that though Wallace didn’t win, his teammate Tyler Reddick did. This has given them more data points and momentum to go for the win in the next-races and also leaves the possibility open to make it to the last 16.
