23XI racing star driver Bubba Wallace has found himself in a big dilemma owing to his performance in the Next-Gen era. Since his win at Kansas in 2022, the No:23 team has been desperately searching for another and has failed every time. What makes it worse is the fact that all this time he is having the best car and best form of his career.
The TRD driver recently addressed the two yearlong winless streak, filled with multiple almost race wins that continued him to 2025, in an interview with SiriusXM NASCAR radio. He admitted that there are things that needs to be cleaned regarding performance on and off the track. Bubba Wallace sees some positives in tough times, as he finally has a car capable of winning raced every week.
There’s a couple things that we want to clean up to really keep putting our name in the hat, but I’m excited for our chances just to show up every weekend. It’s something that you want as a race car driver.
Bubba Wallace said via SiriusXM NASCAR radio.
Further talking about the point, Bubba Wallace asserted that being in contention for race wins every race week is a great feeling and he is cherishing every moment. This factor gives him more confidence on himself and believes they are capable of doing what it is needed to win Cup Series races.
I’ve said this before, but you just want to be in contention every week, knowing that you have a shot every week. And I think just about every time we show up now, I feel I have the confidence in myself and our team that we can do what we need to do to win races.

Bubba Wallace reveals how his new crew chief helps him thrive
The No:23 team came into last week’s race at Texas with the hopes of having another string day, but he was caught up in a late wreck, involving race winner Joey Logano that ended his day. He was disappointed with how everything went, until his new crew chief Charles Denike stepped up.

The veteran in an effort to cheer up Wallace gave him a list of all the positives things happened to them so far and listening to it made his understand the positive charges the team had had so far in 2025. For a driver like Wallace, that relays so much on confidence, it was brilliant, move from Denike.
But I got out of the car, and Charles [Denike] was like, he gave me a laundry list of all the positive things that we accomplished from the start, I guess, I don’t know, the start of the week all the way up to Sunday. And listening to that, you don’t want to hear it, but then the list was so long that you’re forced to listen to it, and it’s like, damn, there is a lot more positives than this one negative.
Bubba Wallace said.
The comment from Wallace shows how much his good performance so far in 2025 was inspired by his new crew chief. It would be interesting to how long it’s going take the No:23 team to get back on the Cup series victory lane.
