The NASCAR community has been long discussing the possibility of Aric Almirola possibly exiting JGR after the veteran’s absence from the Xfinity Series grid. But the rumours were put to rest when it was reported that the ex-SHR driver was serving an internal suspension and will return to the Indy Xfinity race next month.

He was suspended for a physical altercation involving 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace during a weekly competition meeting of JGR and 23XI drivers. The incident occurred a month ago before the Charllotte race weekend and because of the suspension, after JGR found Almirola to be the instigator, he was replaced for that week’s race by Ty Gibbs.

Ahead of this weekend’s race at Nashville, Wallace was asked about the clash and suspension. He refused to give any details about it and asserted that the incident happened last month and he is already over it. Wallace also took a dig at Almirola, saying he isn’t speaking much on the topic because he doesn’t want to tarnish someone else’s’ image.

While further addressing the topic, he asserted that his current focus is on his cup outings and his family. He isn’t concerned about the off-track incidents that are not too good form him. Wallace asserted that he won’t be commenting on the topic much.

The frenzy in the community over the suspension is the chaotic past the duo has. They have had fights and war of words multiple times on the track, with the suspension given to Almirola it seems that this was the biggest incident of them all. Fans are eagerly waiting to get the other side of the story from Almirola.
