The 2025 NASCAR Cup season so far has been impressive for last year’s Rookie of The Year winner Carson Hocevar. The spire Motorsports driver, though received a lot of criticism for being an aggressive racer, had some solid runs until he got into Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where he scored his first second finish outside the top 30 in a row.
Carson Hocevar was involved in a crash in the pit-road, that witnessed some wild incidents on the day. The young Chevy driver came into the pit-road with the hopes of having a quick change, while before his box the No:54 Joe Gibbs Racing crew of Ty Gibbs was getting ready to receive the Toyota driver coming in.

The No:77 crew released Hocevar just when Ty Gibbs was coming into his box. This resulted in the TRD driver getting spun, costing both team a lot of time. Gibbs did a 180 on the box due to the impact and both had to reverse their cars to get out of the chaos. He was racing at P113 before the incident and had to come back to outside the trop-20.
The youngster was furious with the ex-Xfinity Series champion and went on a profanity laced radio rant. He didn’t mince his words and called Joe Gibbs’ grandson for the mistakes.
That’s f***ing…you might as well just take four…I have right front damage and I have left front… I’ll come in and fix the f***ing thing… Exactly what I was f*cking afraid of, what the f*ck?! I was as hard right as I could f*cking go. Ugh.
Carson Hocevar said on team radio.
Slow exit from @CarsonHocevar. He was boxed in behind Gibbs.

🗣️ "Exactly what I was f*cking afraid of, what the f*ck?! I was as hard right as I could f*cking go. Ugh."
Carson Hocevar also called out his team
The star driver was furious, even after the getting back on the track as the incident left him with serious damages. He used multiple F-bombs while telling his team about coming back into the pit-box to fix the No:77 Chevy.

God f*cking damn it! That’s f*cking…you might as well just take four…I have right front damage and I have left front. I’ll come in and fix the f*cking thing.
Carson Hocevar said on team radio.
Hocevar is HOT after taking two tires, then pulled out and nailed Ty Gibbs: "That's fucking…you might as well just take four…I have right front damage and I have left front. I'll come in and fix the fucking thing." https://t.co/mc35RDtvLO

He has some reasonable reasons to call out his team, as they should have been more careful regarding releasing him before communicating with the JGR team about Ty Gibbs’ entry. If they communicated properly the incident could have been avoided.
It wasn’t the wildest JGR pit-box incident of the day
Though the Ty Gibbs incident was unique, it wasn’t the wildest. It happened to his JGR teammate Christopher Bell, who was having tough race. He pitted on his teammate Chase Briscoe pit, to make sure they have fast exit. he had a loose lug nut and the fastest way to get it sorted was this wild choice.

NASCAR didn’t let it slide though, as despite being teammate, it’s against the rule book to pit in any box other than theirs. So, he got a time penalty for the move that was suggested to him by his crew chief.
The race day was made entertaining with all the dram on the pit-road as well as the incident on the track. The victory of Josh Berry in the Wood Brothers Racing Ford made the race more special for the fans.
