Just heartbreaking. Just heartbreaking. I just learned about it 20-30 minutes ago. I don’t know if we know the number of casualties. Obviously, a number of people were impacted. Our hearts go out to those families. Nothing more tragic way to walk into the holiday season.

Josh Stein said.

Alongside honoring the dead, one of the primary objectives of the state is find the real reason for the accident. Stein asserted that SBIs, the Bureau of Investigation, the Highway Patrol are already at Statesville Regional Airport working alongside FAA to figure out what happened and how to prevent similar incidents in the future.

I will say that the SBIs, the Bureau of Investigation, the Highway Patrol, they’re on the site working with the FAA, they’re working with the local sheriff. So, this is again a whole government approach — local, state, and federal. And they’re going to do everything they can to figure out what happened because we don’t want these kinds of accidents to occur. Just heartbreaking.

Josh Stein added.

The whole racing community is morning the tragedy is at sanding besides the family of the victims in this tough time. It would be interesting to see how long it’s going to take to find the reason for the tragedy and how NASCAR is going honor in the legend.
