Charter Lawsuit Is Denying Denny Hamlin the Chance to Have a Vacation He Needs “Very, Very Badly”

The one race in the NASCAR garage that desperately needs a vacation to get his mind of the 2025 season is Denny Hamlin and unfortunately, he is the last one who could take a break. The 2025 championship loss to Kyle Larson due to overtime, despite having a dominant car, has put a significant emotional toll on the veteran.
But Denny Hamlin can’t take a break, as he is part of the charter lawsuit, that will start trial in December. 23XI Racing, the team he co-owns with Michael Jordon, joined forces with Front Row Motorsports to sue NASCAR for monopolistic practices. Due to the multiple court dates his way, the veteran has to stay back and be actively involved with the proceedings.
I don’t have any plans. Usually, I have some kind of plans at some point, but obviously, with the pending litigation and stuff, I don’t know whether I’ll be in town or not. So, that stuff is obviously kind of fluid.
Denny Hamlin said via Racing America.
Talking about the breaks he needs, he pointed out that despite the busy schedule he will try to squeeze some time to take a break. He admitted that he very badly needs a break and wants to spend more time back home with his family, as he deserves it considering the massive grind he had this year.
But I’m going to take some time and go on a vacation at some point. I certainly need it very, very badly. Other than that, just spending more time at home. Through the grind of the season, those who travel weekly in the Cup Series understand that you just don’t get a whole lot of time at home.

Further talking about the point, he wants to spend more time with his children, like attending his daughters’ volleyball game or gymnastics practice. He wants to be with the for the limited time he had, considering they are on the track cheering for them every week.
Being able to now make more of my daughter’s volleyball games is going to be exciting for her. Molly she has gymnastics and stuff that I get to go see now. I’ll just spend most of my time with them, and being a fan of them versus the other way around, like they are for me for 38 weeks.

Coming into the season, the No:11 fans have a major question, will the new partnership between Hamlin and Chris Gayle going to work, as the latter has only worked with young racers before. But he pulled of a stellar job as Chris Gabehart’s replacement, leading them to the finale with six wins. Hamlin believes the combination of Gayle’s attention to details and his experience made them click.
He’s been able to really work on the small details and not have to worry about teaching me things here and there because I have so much experience. That’s why this combination seemed to work really well, is that he knew that I handled all of the driver parts, and that he was able then to focus on giving me whatever I asked for and whatever direction I wanted that team to head down.

The comments from the Joe Gibbs Racing drivers seems rational, as with him Gayle finally had the opportunity work more on the car instead of working on the driver’s racing style. It would be interesting to how many more wins the duo can secure in the coming years.
