Chase Briscoe admitted that he is clueless on what’s going on behind the curtains at SHR. He reckons the team will still be around in the future and asserted that he has proven enough to be with them as well. But at the same time, he is little nervous about the situation as there are a lot of rumours coming out and SHR is keeping silent about it all.
I certainly don’t know what’s going on with our place either. You know, I’m confident that if SHR is still around, I feel like I’ve proved myself enough that they would keep me on here. But yeah, definitely I think anytime that there’s this many rumors going around, right, like you start to get a little nervous. And that’s the big thing is just not knowing and not really hearing anything.Chase Briscoe told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Chase Briscoe reveals his approach towards race weekends amidst the rumors
The former Xfinity Series champion went on to point out that he sees every race as an audition and as events to showcase his worth to the team. He pointed out that while he has been approaching races like this for a long-time now it’s more important.
You just try to go out there and audition every week. And I feel like you can be on a five-year deal and you’re still trying to audition every week, but certainly when there’s all the rumors going around, you certainly feel like every week’s an audition and a trial for something different.Chase Briscoe said.
While it’s okay for Briscoe to be concerned about his future, he should be the last one to be nervous. This is because of the fact that he is arguable the best driver at SHR and the only Cup race winner. He is also the only one with a major sponsorship deal on his hand and if he can keep the Mahindra sponsorship, SHR would have to think thrice before replacing him.
