Joe Gibbs Racing has made a major change to their policies going into the 2025 season and their young drivers are over the moon about it. The new change would allow Christopher Bell, one of the most talented dirt racers in the country, to make the much-awaited return and rekindle his on-track rivalry with Kyle Larson.
Chase Briscoe, who joined JGR replacing retired Martin Truex Jr. for the 2025 season, is also excited about the change. He was concerned about not being able to race in dirt events when he came in. While talking about the change at the NASCAR Awards, Briscoe joked that Gibbs was forced to make the policy change as dirt racers now has the majority at JGR. Alongside the No:19 TRD driver, and Christopher Bell, Ty Gibbs is also a solid dirt racer.
I think it just so happened that, you know, I came over here and I guess we have the majority now.

While further talking about the point, Briscoe shared his excitement about seeing Christopher Bell back on the dirt track battling Kyle Larson. He pointed out that the race fans are really looking forward to seeing those high intensity races yet again.
It’ll be fun though to especially see Christopher back on dirt, you know, just with all the stuff that he’s been able to do in his career and the battles that him and (Kyle) Larson had. For the fans, I think to be able to have that again is going to be really exciting.

Chase Briscoe was afraid he won’t get to race at dirt when he signed with KJGR
Initially when the former Xfinity series champion signed with JGR, the dirt race ban policy was in place, and he was concerned about not being able to race in the dirt anytime. But he is now thankful that JGR decided to make the change and give him the opportunity.

So yeah, I’m just thankful that I at least have the opportunity to go do it. You know, at first when I came over there, I thought even if I really wanted to go do like a memorial race that was important to me or something, I wouldn’t even have the option. Now I do so I’m thankful that they opened up the reins a little bit.

The JGR drivers coming back to dirt racing is sure going make the grassroots events more entertaining and will increase the fan attendance. It will be interesting to see if these drivers would be able to perform in their dirt racing return.
