The 2024 NASCAR season was a year of changes for Chase Briscoe. He lost his seat at SHR as the team cease operations, secured them their last ever cup win and signed with Joe Gibbs Racing, to replace Martin Truex Jr. in the No:19 team. His personal life also was eventful with his wife giving birth to twins in October, changing his life forever.
Recently in a video released by NBC, the 2025 JGR driver explained hilarious story behind him proposing his wife, Marissa Briscoe. He had a pretty special moment planned that included his dog, Ricky. But things went south when the dog threw up all over him while he was on the way to her dad’s house.

I was on the way home. I had to take the dog to her dad’s house and we’re five minutes from his house and Ricky, the dog, throws up all over me.
Chase Briscoe said via NBC.
When he finally reached the house, Marissa misunderstood Chase Briscoe and though he was gifting her the dog. She failed to find what was on Ricky’s collar despite asking multiple time. But at the end they had a good moment, and she said yes.
She just thought I was surprising her with a dog. And I kept saying, look at the collar, look at the collar, and she… never heard me. She just kept thinking I got her a dog. And she ended up saying yes.

2023 Daytona 500 winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. also had a hilarious moment during his proposal. He was planning propose on hike, but as soon as they were ready to start, his wife Madyson Goodfleisch try to bail on him. But he was able to convince her to come with them.
And we were getting ready to go for the hike and she’s like ‘Ah you all just go! I’m just gonna stay in the car. It’s too cold.’ I was like ‘No, you need to come with us.’

The magical moment would have been ruined if Madyson decided to stay in the car. This small detail about the proposal makes their relationship more special and an inside joke that they can laugh about throughout their life.
