Since the start of the 2022 season, when the Next-Gen cars were introduced, Christopher Bell has been a leading driver at Joe Gibbs Racing. He came close to winning title twice with championship-4 appearances, but issues with his No:20 Toyota Camry shattered their dream. But amidst all this, the racing community didn’t give him the limelight he deserved.
Even now despite Chrsitopher Bell being a front runner to point his way into the championship-4 with just the Martinsville race remain in the R-8, he isn’t getting the recognition. While talking about it recently, Bell pointed out that his quiet and reserved character is seen as a weakness by many. He then asserted that he is as capable as any of the contenders.
The JGR veteran also recalled how he was overlooked lasty season as well, and also highlighted how he upset a lot in the garage by making into the championship-4. He also explained that he was happy that he proved the “Netflix: Full Speed” crew wrong by making into the finale.
Christopher Bell is cautiously optimistic about Martinsville race
While further talking about his playoffs, Bell pointed out that he feels cautiously optimistic about Martinsville race this coming Sunday. He pointed out they are going to be fats at the track and will do everything make it into the finale.
The star racer has 29 points advantage from the cutline and can easily make into the finale on points, given he doesn’t make any big mistakes or the car bails on him in the race. It would be interesting to see how the No:20 driver will perform next-Sunday.
