Coming to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell was chasing history. He won the previous three races and was looking into putting him in the list of elites with four back-to-back wins. But luck wasn’t on his side as Wood Brother Racing’s Josh Berry got into the victory lane on Sunday.
Christopher Bell has a disappointing start to the weekend as he was sent to the back of the grid owing to some rule breaches and as he made his way up the field during the race, got caught up in mess involving a loose lug nut. Talking about the streak coming to end with a loss, he admitted that they were racing clean enough despite having a capable car.
It was a grind today for sure. I don’t really know how I feel yet, but we certainly didn’t do what we did the last couple of weeks and that was just have a nice clean race. I think the Interstate Camry was definitely capable of competing for the win when we were at our best…
Christopher Bell said via NBC.
He then highlighted how going back and to the front of the field during the race messed with the balance of his car. Bell also highlighted that his team was in a position to win races in stage two, but the situations didn’t favor him at the end.
but just going to the back and to the front and to the back and to the front, we just didn’t get a handle on the balance, because it changes so much from being back there. I felt like we were in position in stage two to contend for another win, but it got away from us.
Christopher Bell added.
Christopher Bell knew his streak was coming to an end
In a separate interview, Bell pointed out that he understood the streak was coming to an end and he wasn’t going to win all of the races. The disappointing execution cost him the race and the lack of clean racing in the last three weeks, alongside the pit-stop mishaps ended up costing him big time.

I knew we were going to lose at some point. You’re not going to win them all. But just the execution was not good on all fronts. The last three weeks, we did really well and it won us three races. And then today, it just didn’t go our way. We had to start in the back and then a pit-road mishap, bad restarts, struggling with the balance and you have a 12th-place day.
Christopher Bell said.
The comments from Bell shows he was much aware about the disappointment that was waiting for him once the streak comes to an end was ready to tackle them. He is already looking into getting over the hiccup and focus on the next race at Homestead Miami.
Christopher Bell admitted his restart struggles ruined his chance
He had fast car and good opportunity overcome the challenges posed by his rivals, but he admitted that the pit-road mishap alongside restart struggles cost him big time. The lack of downforce on the turns was an issue for them as well.

It was just a bummer. I thought that the performance in the car wasn’t what held us back. We got in position there in Stage 2 before the pit-road mishap. I struggled on restarts whenever I was in the back of the pack, and you’re working on your car to get it to turn better with no downforce on it.
Christopher Bell said.
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver will be more motivated than anyone going into Homestead Miami, as he wants to get back to winning ways sooner than later. He also lost some valuable points, as he is battling 2025 Daytona 500 winner William Byron, for the regular season championship.
