Christopher Bell has talked about missing his crew chief at Richmond Raceway ahead of the race day. He reckons the team would be fine despite Stevens being absent. Since the crew chief would be available at Huntersville war room, as long as there are no technical difficulties, it won’t affect the team’s performance in anyway.
I think it’ll be fine as long as we don’t have any technical difficulties communicating back to Charlotte. You know, he’s going to be at the war room in Huntersville at Joe Gibbs Racing. As long as we don’t have technical difficulties, I don’t think I’ll be able to tell much of a difference.Christopher Bell told Davey Segal of SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

He revealed out that they news was broke via the No:20 team group chat, where Stevens sent a message that he is injured and would miss some races. Bell admitted that no none was expecting to hear such news.
He [Adam Stevens] sent a group message to our entire team, we’ve got a group chat going, and it was on, it might have been on Sunday evening. The evening that he broke his leg, both of his knees I should say. So, he said, ‘Hey guys, I tore my patellar tendons and I’m going to be out for a little bit.’ So, yeah, that was some news that we weren’t expecting to get for sure.Christopher Bell said.
The 2024 NASCAR Cup season has been string for Bell, who has won three races so far and he would be hoping that the injury of Stevens won’t derail their progress. It would; be interesting to see how the No:20 team performance without the physical presence of the crew chief.
