The 2024 NASCAR Cup season saw Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson attempting the iconic double duty with his attempt to racing in the Indy 500 and Coke 600. Though the attempt was ruined by rain, the buzz around it has made many of his fellow Cup drivers to show interest in one day racing in the premier open wheel racing.

Joe Gibbs Racing start Christopher Bell is the most recent racer to show interest in racing at the Brickyard. He pointed out that he will be all in for the event if Toyota ever plans to do the Double. If TRD ever return to IndyCar as an engine supplier, Bell will be ready to make the 500-entry happed with his team.

Yeah, for sure. If Toyota was interested in that, I would be raising my hand to do it.  They haven’t been (just) a huge part of my career, they have been my career.

Christopher Bell said during NASCAR awards at Charlotte.

He wanted it to do it with Toyota, because he owns his career to them. TRD has been backing Bell from his amateur racing days, nourishing his talent and racing in the Indy 500 for them will be one of the ways he can show his gratitude.

They have literally taken me from childhood semi-professional or amateur racing all the way to the Cup Series so I would love that. I would love if they would do it, and I’d be the first one to raise my hand to do it.

Christopher Bell responds to JGR’s crew chief changes for 2025

Going into the 2025 season, Joe Gibbs Racing had made some huge organizational changes. This includes the change of crew chiefs for Ty Gibbs and Denny Hamlin. The No:11 teams’ crew chief was promoted to the competition director role. Bell sees this call as a solid one considering Chris Gabehart has been the best crew chief at JGR for a longtime.

I think it’s going to be—it has potential to help out all the teams. Gabehart is an incredibly smart person. He was a huge asset to the 11 car, and I think moving him to oversee the crew chiefs and provide input and knowledge… is a solid move.

Christopher Bell said.

The change is going benefit everyone at JGR, including Bell. JGR had also made another policy change regarding removing the dirt racing ban and Bell ius excited to return to racing in the dirt events. It will be interesting to see how the No:20 team will perform in 2025, with their driver having many favorable changes coming their way.
