The 2025 NASCAR Cup season seems to be the year of Joe Gibbs Racing’s No:20 team as Christopher Bell secured his third win of the season at Phoenix Raceway. He won the races at Atlanta Motor Speedway taking advantage of his luck, COTA using his road course racing skills and dominated Phoenix to defend his regular season win at the tracks.
Christopher Bell had a solid race that saw his finish P4 on stage 1, winning the second distance became taking home the trophy dominating the last stage. He led 1/3 of the whole race on the way to victory. His arch-rival Kyle Larson (P3) and teammate Denny Hamlin (P2) gave him a run for his money on the final laps, but their efforts weren’t enough.
All right, what I don’t want to happen is go 20, 30 laps, get a yellow. That happened. Then we went 10 more laps, had another yellow. It was all about who could get clear on the restart. Neither of us could. We were racing really, really hard there coming to the line. JGR ran 1-2, how about that?
Christopher Bell said via NBC.
When asked about having the opportunity to become the first driver since Kyle Larson is 2021 to win four consecutive races next-week, he admitted that that makes the win incredibly special. He promised to go all out to achieve it and then also highlighted the challenge his rivals poses owing to the parity in the Next-Gen era.
Man, that’s special. That is incredibly special… To hear that and know that I have that opportunity ahead of me. We’re going to a darn good place for it. This sport has become so incredibly tough with the parity that we have. The teams are so tight. The cars are really tight. The drivers are tight. Like, everybody performs at a high level. There are 10, 15 guys that could win on any given week.

Christopher Bell is in disbelief about the historical opportunity
With the third straight win, he has the opportunity to join the list 11 drivers to win four Cup events in a row. The record for most consecutive wins though seems to less achievable as Richard petty had won 10 straight races in 1967.

Regardless, if he can secure one more victory in the Next-Gen era, next-week, where every team with the right choices can have a shot at win, is special. So, he is in disbelief about the fact that he has the opportunity and not some veterans of the sport.
It was really cool to see. I don’t even know how many teams we had lead the race, Ryan Preece was up there leading for the first time in a long time. The field is littered with talented drivers, teams, crew chiefs. It’s hard to do. I acknowledge that. I’m just kind of in disbelief that I have that opportunity, but I’m looking forward to it.

Alongside Bel, his No:20 crew who has been flawless on the pits the last three weeks deserve recognition. They gave him the right cars as well as had the perfect strategy with the option tiers on play at Phoenix.
