Joe Gibbs Racing witnessed exit of yet another veteran from their team, as Martin Truex Jr. retired from full-time racing. He is set to be replaced by Chase Briscoe for the 2025 season and beyond, joining the young lineup of TRD.  The NASCAR community is going to miss the presence of the veteran, who is respected by almost everyone on the grid.

Some driver shared their opinion on the driver in a special video made celebrating the 2017 Cup champion by NASCAR. It also featured Martin Truex Jr.’s longtime teammate Christopher Bell who has always seen the veteran as his idol. He proclaimed that he wants to have a career similar to that of champion racer.

For me, Martin has always been an idol of mine. I want to be similar to him. Martin Truex does things his way and I’ve always cherished that about.

In the same video, JGR’s No:11 Toyota driver Denny Hamlin also shared his verdict on the retired title winner. He pointed out that Martin Truex Jr. is one of the most underrated racers in the garage and it shows the respect Hamlin has for his ex-teammate.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. reveals Martin Truex Jr.’s obsession with outdoor life

One of the things that defines Martin Truex Jr. as a person is his love towards finishing and hunting. His ex-teammate and longtime friend Dale Earnhardt Jr. pointed out that Truex Jr. loves the outside life more than anything else, including racing.

He loves to hunt, he loves to fish. He would rather be on that boat fishing than anything else, even racing.

The fans won’t be surprised to see Martin Truex Jr. will be living rest of their life exploring the outdoors, with occasional NASCAR appearances. These part-time appearances from the future Hall of Famer would be something the stock car racing community would cherish.
