Joe Gibbs Racing was getting ready to announce the signing of Chase Briscoe as the replacement of Martin Truex Jr., who is set to retire at the end of the season, in the No:19 Toyota Camry. But the teams plan to have an exciting official announcement was ruined by their star driver Christopher Bell at New Hampshire.
The No:20 Camry driver while talking about his leadership role ahead of the race weekend at New Hampshire accidentally revealed that Chase Briscoe will be joining the team in 2025. While the announcement was expected, no one expected the slip-up from the star driver and the news coming out in such a way.
Can Christopher Bell look back on yesterday and laugh?

“Uhh, no. I’m glad everyone’s laughing about it but I’m not laughing. I felt so incredibly dumb and stupid.”
Bell says the JGR folks took it easy on him and all is good.
The reaction from the NASCAR community about the slip up wasn’t negative as Christopher Bell expected as everyone is laughing about it. Even Chase Briscoe took it as a joke and a slip-up to laugh about. At the same time Bell feels really awkward about the situation and admitted that he feels incredibly dumb about spilling the beans.
Uhh, no. I’m glad everyone’s laughing about it but I’m not laughing. I felt so incredibly dumb and stupid.Christopher Bell told PRN.
Christopher Bell stayed off the phone after the messed up
Once Bell realized the gravity of his mistake, he was really disappointed and he stayed of the phone and social media to “hibernate.” He admitted that everyone was pointing out his mistake and how it was stupid slip-up.
After yesterday, it was definitely a day that I stayed off of my phone. I stayed off social media for sure, just to try to hibernate. And nobody let me live it down. I get everyone I see, obviously, tells me how stupid I am. But yeah, trying to, you know, getaway, you don't have wine.Christpher Bell said.
He was bit too hard himself in the later comments as he claimed he has never screwed up things this much in his life. Bell has already apologized to his boss Joe Gibbs. It would be interesting to see how JGR will now approach the announcement.
