“Absolutely Crushed!” Clint Bowyer, Jeff Gordon and Denny Hamlin Mourn the Death of Greg Biffle

The NASCAR community is absolutely shocked over the plane crash that claimed the lives of Greg Biffle and his family. A private plane owned by the former Truck and Busch Series champion was involved in an accident on Thursday morning at Statesville Regional Airport. Alongside the Biffle family, three more lost their life.
Former and active NASCAR drivers have been sharing statements mourning the death. One of Greg Biffle biggest rivals, Clint Bowyer was one of the first to make a statement on social media. In a post X, the ex-SHR racer admitted that he is crushed about the news and asserted that everyone in the community is sad over the loss of one of the best personality the sport has ever seen.

Four times Cup Series champion and HMS Vice Chairman Jeff Gordon also shared a statement about the tragedy that took the life of the race from his own generation. He called it a devastating news and asserted that he always had tremendous respect for the veteran as a racer as well as a person over the years.
Devastating news. I had such tremendous respect for Greg as a driver, and we shared countless tough battles on the track. Like so many others, I was inspired by his tireless relief work during Hurricane Helene. My heart goes out to the Biffle family and everyone hurting.

Joe Gibbs Racing veteran and 23XI Racing co-owner Denny Hamlin also took it to social media to share his thoughts on the 55 years old’s death. He called Biffle the fiercest competitor and kindest soul he has seen in the NASCAR garage. The TRD driver asserted that he is mourning the death of everyone involved in the tragedy.
Today the motorsports world lost one of its fiercest competitors and kindest souls. Greg Biffle was a champion on the track and a humanitarian off it, whose impact reached far beyond racing. We also mourn the loss of his wife Cristina and children Emma & Ryder, along with Craig Wadsworth, Dennis Dutton, and his son Jack. My heart is with all their families and loved ones.

Bubba Wallace and Carson Hocevar join NASCAR community is mourning Greg Biffle tragedy
Among the active drivers that shared their grief about the death is 23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace. He took it to X to share an image of the whole Biffle family that lost their lives in the tragic plan crash with a folded hand emoji, hinting they are remembered in the prayers of he and his family.

Spire Motorsports star driver Carson Hocevar shared his grief with a post on X. He shared an image of him and Greg Biffle hugging and, in the caption, highlighting how much that moment meant for him alongside how the veteran will always be in his memories.

The comments from the young racers shows how much everyone loved and respected the racing legend. The whole community is crushed about the loss and it would be interesting see how the garage is going to show their respect in the 2026 season.
