The 2025 NASCAR Cup season will mark the return of Cody Ware to the premier division after two tough years of his life. He struggled on the track owing to his inability to find speed out of his RWR car and the team’s failure to give him faster cars. The controversy around the assault charges that was filed against him, which was later dropped, put him in a tough position.
But his father Rick Ware that owns the Rick Ware Racing team has decided to give the racer a shot at redemption, after his good performance in the No:51 car last year on his nine part-time appearances. The level improvement the team shown, with their RFK Racing relationship and Justin Haley behind the wheels in the first half of last season gives him a lot of hope.
Cody Ware is grateful he is getting a chance to return to the top division, which is the dream of many drivers, and is looking forward to taking advantage of the improvement the team had last season. He admitted that 2025 is going to the biggest opportunity he has ever gotten as a competitor in the top-tier and he will not take it for granted.
Rick Ware claims Cody Ware earned the seat for 2025
The RWR owner asserted that he didn’t sign Cody Ware over the family connection, but it was done due to the impressive consistency eh shoved in the nine races he ran last year. He is looking to use the good rapport Cody and crew chief Billy Plourde made to their advantage.
The comments from Rick Ware shows the team is determined to return to being the front runners of the mid-field teams and continue their growth. It would be interesting to see if Cody Ware can help the team to perform in the desired consistent level.
