It was a huge disappointment for almost everyone in the NASCAR community that wished their star driver to represent them well in IndyCar. Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. though has a different perspective about the racers failed weekend. He shared these thoughts in the recent episode of the Dale Jr. Download podcast.
He highlighted that Kyle Larson should be admired for his ability and decision to take the risk of attempting the demanding double duty. Junior pointed out that Larson showed the courage to face a situation where he could get humbled, which he did in both Indy 500 attempts, as it takes something special to be in such an uncomfortable situation.
I will say this: I admire Larson’s ability. I admire Larson and anyone who’s willing to be humbled. And it takes more balls to be humbled than it does to get in something comfortable and fast.
