Dale Earnhardt Jr. met his now-wife Amy Earnhardt back in 2009, and they have been together ever since. As such, the couple has celebrated multiple Valentines’ day, as they definitely would have run out of ideas now. However, Mrs. Earnhardt reveals how their tradition to celebrate Valentine’s is pretty simple despite being parents to two daughters now.
The 2026 season of NASCAR has started in full-swing mode, with the exhibition match running a little later than scheduled. However, the upcoming race weekend will fall during Valentine’s week, as Dale Earnhardt Jr. might be away from his house. Speaking on their plans for the upcoming Valentine’s Day, Amy Earnhardt isn’t too concerned as she is sure that the two will find a way to celebrate the day of love.
Speaking about the upcoming race weekend coinciding with Valentine’s Day, Amy Earnhardt revealed that she had spent many such days in Daytona alongside Dale Earnhardt Jr. Further, she funnily pointed out that they would usually give each other little candies from the nearest CVS or Walgreens and call it a day.
As such, the couple did not have a day planned for the entire Valentine’s Day, as after being together for almost two decades now, they just enjoyed each other’s company and not flashy celebrations. Further, Amy Earnhardt made an amazing “love is everyday” statement on not celebrating the day of love with her husband. Hence, the couple was ready to spend their entire day on the NASCAR race weekend.
Well, we’ve had many Valentine’s Days in Daytona. And usually we would just get each other a little candy from CVS or Walgreens, Valentine’s Day, I’ve never held, is like a really important holiday. I don’t know, love is every day. But we’ll be in Daytona, and the Xfinity race is on that Saturday. Yeah. So maybe we’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. opens up on the hilarious Valentine’s tradition with Amy Earnhardt
Dale Earnhardt Jr. believes that enjoying each other’s company is more important than celebrating Valentine’s Day. For Dale Jr., a simple date to the nearest convenience store is good enough, as he loves Amy Earnhardt, and every day is a celebration for them. Following Mrs. Earnhardt’s hilarious story, Junior expanded on the tradition and what they did to celebrate Valentine’s Day when away from home.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. revealed that the two would drive to the gas station, and Amy would go in the store first. She would then pick up her gift for Junior and come outside, not revealing the gift. Then, it was the 51-year-old’s turn to go in and pick the gift for his wife. Later, the two gave each other their gift after returning to the motor home over the race weekend.
Dale Jr: We would drive, we get in, we get in the car, we drive to the gas station, she goes in, gets her stuff, I go in, get my stuff, then we go back to the bus, and we give each other our stuff.
The couple noted.
Amy Earnhardt: And we just eat it all, eat all the candy.
Certainly, it is very heartwarming to witness how love triumphs even when the two are completely busy and caught up in their professional life. Both Dale Jr. and Amy Earnhardt are behaving as ideal couples and parents. Their two daughters, Nicole and Isla, also cherish how their parents love one another and celebrate Valentine’s Day with such great affection.
