Richard Childress Racing’s Xfinity Series driver Austin Hill is one of the big characters in the NASCAR second tier garage. He infamous for his win at all cost attitude as he is ready to go on aggressive battles on the race track even if it’s against his teammate. The most recent beef he has been caught up in is with Shane van Gisbergen.
After losing the Sonoma Xfinity race to Shane van Gisbergen and few run-ins, Austin Hill showed his frustration by flipping the bird on the Kiwi racer during burnouts. This has made many including ex-racers like Kyle Petty call him someone with a bully vibe. Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. has recently discussed the point and claimed that Hill is just standing up for himself.

He’s a big boy. He has a bit of a bully vibe, at times. But there’s other moments when he does — he’s just taking care of business. He’s just standing his ground. I can see him do something and go, ‘Yeah, if I was him, I’d have done that.’ … It’s sort of this domino effect, and he certainly needs to change the narrative a little bit.Dale Earnhardt Jr. said via Dale Jr. Download.
He went onto point out that the villain vibe it coming up more nowadays because of Hill not winning many races. Junior claimed that once he gets back to winning path again the narrative will go away as he isn’t the bully many reckons, he is.
Winning a race and doing things like that will help, but I feel like he’s taken a bit of a detour, and he needs to go back and get on the right path, in terms of his reputation, how he’s perceived, because I don’t believe that that’s truly who he is.Dale Earnhardt Jr. added.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. explains why the dual between the two might not continue
While talking about the same topic earlier, Junior broke down his feelings about the beef between the two continuing. He asserted that it might not continue as once the series return to ovals SVG won’t be able to compete the same level as Hill does because the difference in car and more.

Do SVG and Austin Hill continue to brawl? Unlikely, because right now SVG isn’t where Austin Hill is on the ovals. So, this probably doesn’t have the potential to continue to fester. That’s one thing.Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.
Junior has a point there as SVG still has lot to learn about ovals and Kaulig Racing is not know for having the best cars when it comes to no-road course events. But there is a possibility that the fight between the two once SVG gets the hang of oval racing towards the end of the season.
