Dale Earnhardt Jr. brands Justin Allgaier as “very capable” of leading JRM’s Cup debut at Daytona
Dale Earnhardt Jr. has shared his feelings about the factors behind choosing Justin Allgaier as JRMs 2025 Daytona 500 driver.

The 2025 Daytona 500 will mark history as NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s JR Motorsports is set to make their Cup series debut. They will field the No:40 Chevy, with the support from Hendrick Motorsports, and Justin Allgaier as their driver. JRM will be one of the 46 racers, that are expected to present at the crown jewel race.
In the recent episode of the Dale Jr. Download podcast, two times Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. explained why he chose Justin Allgaier as the face of their cup debut. He pointed out that the regaining Xfinity champion is a very capable racer, and he trusts him to do the job he is supposed to do on the track as well as off of it.
He asserted that their sponsors Travellers Whiskey needed someone who perform well on the track, while also represent them outside the racing hours, which can inspire them to invest more in the sport. When JRM has discussion about who to sign for the part-time entry, the found the champion racer as the guy who can hit all the mark.

Earlier in the same conversation Dale Jr. praised Allgaier for the success they have had together over the years. He then highlighted that one of factors that makes Allgaier standout is his professionalism, working with the sponsors and Junior respects it a lot.
The comment from Junior shows he has a lot of confidence on Allgaier’s on and off-track capabilities, going into Daytona. He is expecting to have a memorable Cup debut for the team and use it as the base for the eventually full-time Cup entry of JR Motorsports.
