Dale Earnhardt Jr. claims there is “zero expectation” for JRM on Cup debut
Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. has shared his true feelings about his team JR Motorsports making Cup debut in 2025 with Daytona 500 entry.

The 2025 NASCAR Cup season will mark the return of the Earnhardt name to the Cup series. Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s team JR Motorsports is set to make their cup series debut, with their reigning Xfinity Series champion Justin Allgaier. He will drive the No:40 Chevy which will be fielded with the support of Hendrick Motorsports.
The team has also landed a top primary sponsor in Travelers Whiskey. The brand is owned by 10-time Grammy winning artist Chris Stapleton. Talking about the entry in the recent episode of his podcast, Dale Earnhardt Jr. asserted that the team as no pressure on their shoulders as they have zero expectations and sees it as start of something bigger.
He pointed out that if the team found themselves in a tough challenge in the race, they will use it as a motivating tool for the future. Walking away from something, after losing is not part of the Junior Motorsports DNA.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been waiting for the opportunity for a long time
Entering the Cup series has long been the dream of JRM and have been waiting for the best first opportunity. They realized it was the best one when they were given the opportunity to race with Chris Stapleton and is looking forward to making a point.
The comments from Dale Jr. shows how much the team was looking forward for the opportunity to race in the Cup series and their goal of using this as the base for their further growth. It would be interesting to see how Justin Allgaier will perform when they get the opportunity.
