NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. has shared his feelings about the wild airborne incident involving Ty Gibbs and Justin Haley.

The Clash at the Bowman Gray Stadium was an impressive event that saw chaos and clean racing, with 2020 Cup champion Chase Elliott securing the win. Coming into the Madhouse, fans were expecting lot of chaos as the track is infamous for its wild moments and the exhibition event featured some.
In the last Chance Qualifying Race, Ty Gibbs produced one such wild events as his car went airborne while he tagged Justin Haley in retaliation for an early incident. Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. discussed the incident on his podcast and pointed out that, as 2023 Cup champion Ryan Blaney said, the landing would have been really uncomfortable for Gibbs.
Further talking about the point, Dale Jr. pointed out that Gibbs was trying to swerve and bang doors. He doesn’t see any issues with it and asserted that NASCAR would be doing some nit-picking if they decide to penalize Gibbs.

In the same conversation, Dale Jr. pointed out that all of the contact that happened at Bowman Gray was fine and doesn’t want it to disturb when things are not taken too far. Junior wants NASCAR to allow some of the things happen in the races, if they are kept balanced.
The comments from Dale Jr. in the whole podcast, reveals that he is missing the aggressive racing in NASCAR as the drivers are now racing cleaner on the track. So, it’s important that the sanctioning body doesn’t over police the races.
