The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race on Sunday at Martinsville witnessed a dramatic fight between reigning champion Jesse Love and Hendrick Motorsports prodigy Rajah Caruth. They traded paint multiple time on the track with aggressive moves, with the latter getting send to the wall by Brent Crews, running his momentum. The confrontation between the duo post-race was another wild moment.
NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Eranhardt Jr. has shared his thoughts on the situation on the latest episode of his podcast. He highlighted how Love was furious at Caruth for the exact same thing he has done to other drivers, showing the hypocrisy that many racers have. Aggressive contact is part of Martinsville racing and drivers needs to accept it.
Jesse drives the way he doesn’t like to get driven. I like Jesse, and I don’t want to give him the wrong idea. Jesse races hard and there’s nothing wrong with it but when it comes back around, [he doesn’t like it]. Especially at Martinsville, damn, you’re supposed to get run into.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. said on podcast.
Further talking about the Jesse Love versus Rajah Caruth controversy, Dale Earnhardt Jr. pointed out that every driver that coming to Martinsville should brace themselves for contact racing. He wants drivers to take some hist when it happens on the track and if they want to take revenge, take it the right way.
I would go to Martinsville — I want Jesse and everyone to hear this — I would go to Martinsville looking f*cking forward to getting run into… I’m not gonna spin somebody out, I’m not gonna ruin somebody’s day. But if I run into the f*cking side of your car, take it like a f*cking man. You wanna give it back to me in the next corner, fine, but it’s eye for an eye.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. gave Rajah Caruth a solid advice
In the same conversation, Junior talked about what he told Rajah Caruth, who is closely working with his JR Motorsports team, owing to the HMS-JRM association. He reminded the young racers that the incident should have been handled better and also praised the duo for talking t out during the confrontation.

Listen, I told Rajah at the end of the day that he should have handled it better. He knows he should have. I loved how him and Jesse Love hashed it out; they talked it out, they got away from the crew chiefs and handled it. Good deal.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.
Further talking about the point, Junior also defended Brent Crews for spinning out Caruth. He pointed out that it was most probably an accidental knock and how it might have been the product of the seeing the aggressive actions of the No:88 Chevy driver, targeting Love.
I don’t know if he meant to spin the 88 around, he probably hoped maybe he just knocks the 88 up the track and he’s just grabbing another spot because he watched the 88 knock somebody up the track the corner before. That’s the mentality I think a driver has, and you’re at the end of the race.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. added
The comments from the veteran are on point and shows the run-in was part of racing. If the duo were more experienced Cup drivers, even the post-race confrontation would not have happened, as the chaos is part of Martinsville racing.
