Last Sundays NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway was dramatic event. One of the craziest moments of the day was when 2021 Cup champion Kyle Larson snapped on his spotter. The No:5 Chevy driver didn’t like the criticism of the way he raced Denny Hamlin and took a shot at his spotter Tylor Monn.
Kyle Larson straight up told Monn to “shut the f**k up.” It was very unlikely of the driver as he isn’t known for such outbursts. So many in the racing community reckons the fault was with the No:5 team spotter as he let the bias, he had towards his driver made him cross the line a bit. NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. has discussed the incident via his podcast.

I think Kyle has that in him, but he doesn’t really — I think it’s way deep in the toolbox. He’s not an ovoverly aggressiveuy, when you kind of push him around a little bit. He doesn’t get too crazy, he just races.Dale Earnhardt Jr. said via Dale Jr. Download.
He asserted that Larson didn’t expect and wanted such criticism from his own team and that made him shot back. With the comments the HMS driver has established that he will not entertain similar comments in the future as well.
I think they’re trying to tell him, ‘Look man, stop letting that happen,’ and he ain’t wanting to hear that, from his guys, So, he snapped, and finally shot back, and made it pretty clear that type of information from his spotter isn’t something he’s going to want to hear anytime in the future.Dale Earnhardt Jr. added.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. gives some advice to Kyle Larson’s spotter
While further talking about the point, Junior addressing the No:5 team spotter said that he has to be careful with his words as there is always possibility of drivers firing back at them, which isn’t always a good look. He asserted that being honest is great, but the line shouldn’t be crossed.

It's good for them to be honest. It's good for them to tell like it is. But there's a line there where you gotta be careful or the driver's going to fire back.Dale Eranhardt Jr. said.
The JRM owner made the right point about the Larson-spotter drama. This incident won’t be significant as the season progress for the No:5 team as such venting and lamenting via team radio is part of the sport.
