NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. is set to make his Xfinity Series next-week at Bristol Motor Speedway. He will drive his usual No:88 Chevy, hoping to replicate the impressive outing he has had in the 2023 season where he consistently ran inside the top-10 before the car failed him and the Homestead race where he finished P5.
Ahead of the race next-week, Dale Earnhardt Jr. took it to X to share an update about the car he is going to use the next week. He revealed that, the No:88 will be using the same car they raced in the 2023 season. It was totally stripped following the last year’s race and has now been rebuilt for the coming weekend.
We are bringing back the same car as last year. Totally stripped and rebuilt. Hope it handles as well. See ya in a week. https://t.co/uCcZCtVQnO

While that fans are happy to see Junior using the car, they are bit cautious and concerned as well. They are hoping that the No:88 Chevy on end catching on fire like it did last time that almost put him in a dangerous situation coming into the pit-road, considering this might probably be his last ever race at Bristol.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. not pleased with Atlanta getting the Superspeedway tag
Since it was rebuilt, the Atlanta Motor Speedway lost most of its short track character. The races at Georgia currently seems more like Superspeedway races, making NASCAR to give it a Superspeedway tag. Junior isn’t a fan of this tag as he doesn’t think it deserves to be in that category as it is relatively a small track.
I don’t think you put it (Atlanta) in Daytona and Talladega category. It isn’t the same. NASCAR and NBC would love to say they are on the same track. What I really get annoyed with is how those terms like a short track, intermediate, one-mile oval, that’s pretty straightforward, superspeedway, those were terms that adhered strictly to a size. They are not just loose terms.Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.
The points made by Dale Jr. does make a lot of sense and it is clear that the Atlanta race deserves a special tag for itself. It will be interesting to see if NASCAR will listen to the Hall of Famer and look into giving it a new name.
