2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson is set to make history as the first driver since Kurt Busch to attempt the iconic double duty this week. He will drive in the Indy 500 this Sunday for Arrow McLaren’s Rick Hendrick sponsored car. Larson will start the at P6 after an impressive qualifying run last week and fight for the win, before flying to Charllotte to race in the Coco Cola 600.

Kyle Larson is the fastest rookie there for the iconic race this season and it gives him a lot of confidence going into the weekend. That’s one of the many reasons why NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. is rooting for the No:5 HMS driver to win the race. He pointed out that with the double duty Larson is giving both NASCAR and IndyCar the spotlight.

I hope he goes and wins. We’ll be watching and wishing the best for Kyle Larson as he goes through that…It’s awesome. Not only is Kyle doing some amazing things out there in the motorsports world and putting not only IndyCar but NASCAR as well right on the front page, it’s good to be able to re-live some of the other doubles that have happened in the past.

Junior isn’t the only one in the NASCAR community that expects and wants Kyle Larson to win. The fans and the remaining drivers on the grid is hoping to see this happening after seeing Larson getting better in each extra laps he got around Brickyard during the practice and qualifying sessions last week.
