The Chicagoland Speedway was a fan favorite on the Cup Series calendar. The race was last held in 2019 before it was axed the following season. Since then, many drivers have called for its return. NASCAR pundit Adam Stern recently reported that Chicagoland could be back on the Cup calendar as early as 2026. He reckoned that this possibility was only increasing, exciting fans on social media. Dale Earnhardt Jr. could not stay away from imagining this possibility and replied on X.

The NASCAR legend claimed that he was ready to gamble to get the track back on the calendar. Dale Jr. insisted that Chicagoland would undoubtedly provide one of the most action-packed races of next season if the sport sanctions its return.

I’d gamble that it would be one of the most entertaining races of the season.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s comments come at a time when NASCAR has added several road courses including a street race in Chicago. While such tracks help diversify the calendar and bring a different sort of racing to fans, traditionalists still prefer conventional speedways. Perhaps, the return of Chicagoland could help NASCAR balance the calendar.

The NASCAR legend narrated an incident when he was going to a grocery store to pick up an item that his wife had ordered. Dale Jr. had informed the store and was waiting in the parking lot. During this time, an elderly woman parks her car in a parking spot, presumably the pick-up spot, without any concern for Earnhardt.

Amy will send me alerts and be like, hey, you’re out and about. If you’re by this grocery store, I’ve got an order for pickup. You go over there, there’s two parking spots. Tell them on your phone. I’m in the parking spot. Everybody knows about this. I pull in there and there’s a lady getting out of her car.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was pissed to see the woman go on about her business without caring for the fact that he was waiting in the pick-up spot. He reckoned that the woman was from Florida. While he was infuriated with the incident, Amy Earnhardt admitted that she was more of a granny lover who could not get mad even in such scenarios.

She’s got a Florida tag. So she’s not from around, I don’t, I’m assuming she doesn’t live in the neighborhood. But I’m like, God dang, man. She’s getting out at me. And I’m looking at her and there’s this moment where I’m like, you know what you’re doing? And she’s looking at me like, I know, you know what I’m (0:45) doing. She’s got this look like *** you, buddy.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. added

Certainly, there are times when things can be annoying for everyone, no matter if it’s a NASCAR legend like Dale Earnhardt Jr. However, it is important to stay calm and not burst out against anyone, especially in public. Dale Jr. understands the importance of composure and thus did not take any action, rather he simply waited for the situation to be over.
