The 2024 NASCAR season has been a huge disappointment for Bubba Wallace who missed out on playoffs owing to his inconsistent form and lack of wins. What makes his result more hurting is the fact that his teammate Tyler Reddick secured multiple wins this season and also scored the regular season championship.

While Bubba Wallace deserves criticism for the poor result, his team also has some responsibility. NASCAR Journalist Jordan Bianchi, in his Teardown podcast for Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Dirty Mo Media, explained why the team deserves criticism. He highlighted how the team didn’t do a good enough job in the nine-race streak they had mid-way to the season that say them struggle in the tracks where they were favorites.

One stage win this year. This team has not done a very good job of not just winning stages, they haven’t done a very good job of getting stage points. That has certainly added up. They had a stretch this year of nine races where they had eight finishes outside the top-10. That’s not gonna cut it especially when it’s supposed to be some of his best tracks.
Jordan Bianchi said via The Teardown podcast.

He pointed out that the No:23 Toyota Camry team should have performed the same level as they did in the last 6 races the whole season. The failure to do that resulted in their early exit from the championship chase.

Talladega, Kansas, Charlotte, you know, look at those places. You have to go there and maximize it. Where he has ran as of late has been great. You have to take this six-race stretch or whatever it is and you gotta do that over 26 races.
Jordan Bianchi added.

Bubba Wallace urged to for wins in the 2025 season

During the same podcast co-host Jeff Gluck gave his advice on how to approach the 2025 season. He urged him to go for the win next-season and forget about making it into the post-season on the back of points. Gluck is hinting that if the team had gone for the win, a playoff spot was possible for him.

Next year, Bubba’s just gotta come out and don’t even worry about the points. Just go for wins. His car has had the capability of winning. Go for wins.
Jeff Gluck said.

The 2024 season so far has been a year to forget for the No:23 team, but they have 10 more races left to prove their worth. They should go all out in the last races for the win and it would be interesting to see how the playoff races will playout for him.
