It is expected that on Tuesday, Stewart Haas Racing is going to make their future known. They're going to inform employees of their decision on what they're going to do in the NASCAR Cup Series…I would say it's very likely that Stewart Haas Racing is going to divest itself of charters…But I think we're going to learn, SHR states, that Stewart Haas Racing is going to, for all intents and purposes, cease to exist as a NASCAR Cup Series team after the 2024 season.

Jordan Bianchi reports massive charter restructuring coming from NASCAR

In the same podcast, the journalist reported that there is some massive restructuring coming as part of the new charter deal. He pointed out that NASCAR doesn’t want teams to have no more than three charters.

But the legendary teams such as Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing, who already has four teams will be allowed to continue the way they are with a grandfather clause. Other teams would have to be a three-car operation like Team Penske.

It seems a ration decision from NASCAR, as the current state of SHR shows having four teams and not running them well will put teams in tough positions. Reposrts also suggest that there will be ways for teams to field four cars as well.
