The NASCAR Cup Series weekend last week at Darlington last week was an impressive day. It saw multiple heated moments between drivers on and off the track. The clash between Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron and Team Penske Racing’s Ryan Blaney, who is also the defending champion, was on of the highlights.
Midway to stage two of the race. Ryan Blaney found himself on the outside lane in a three was battle for position with Martin Truex Jr. and William Byron. A poor move by Byron coming into the turn resulted in Blaney hitting the wall, breaking his toe-link and DNFing from the race. He was furious and was heard ranting at team radio.
NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. while talking about the drama pointed out that, it’s the HMS driver who is predominantly blame for the incident and asserted that the No:12 Ford driver has all the rights to be angry. He urged the Chevy driver to make up for the mess at some point in the future.
He ends up not giving those two cars the room that they needed, and forcing one of them to have to lift out and then and make contact. So Blaney has, in my mind here, Blaney has every right to be angry, and Byron should try to make that right at some point.Dale Earnhardt Jr. said via Dale Jr. Download.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. highlights how emotional the Darlington win was for Brad Keselowski
RFK Racing’s Brad Keselowski survived all these chaos at Goodyear 400 to win his first race with the team and ended his 110-race winless streak. Dale Jr. while talking about the wholesome moment Keselowski shared with his daughters after the win, highlighted that he knows how the No:6 Ford driver is feeling.
There was a moment in that post-race interview when he saw his little girl hugging his leg and went down, looked at her, and picked her up where he just about broke. I know that emotion is in there and he won't show it if he can help it. That was an emotional moment watching that as a father, imagining, 'Wow, I can almost feel what he must be feeling right now.Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.
It seems Junior really wants to have a same moment with his daughters as well. But unfortunately, his daughters couldn’t see him winning races in NASCAR. He still has the opportunity to do it, either in the CARS Tour and maybe in one of his outings in the Xfinity Series with JRM.
