The Daytona International Speedway is infamous for the wrecks as the drivers always finds it hard to navigate the chaos in Superspeedway. The NASCAR Xfinity Series race on Saturday at Daytona was no different as it featured a massive wreck on lap one of the races caused by Dale Earnhardt’s grandson Jeffrey Earnhardt.

Sam Hunt Racing fielded the No:26 car for Jeffrey Earnhardt as part of their extended part-time deal, with the third-generation driver looking to prove himself to land a full-time seat for the 2026 season. But the wreck might ruin some momentum that was on his side. Everything happened on when Earnhardt attempts overtake Jeremy Clements went bad.

Sam Hunts’ driver made contact with Clements and wrecked the No:51 car, which slid into the infield grass. The remaining field behind the duo started checking to avoid damage, but this made things worse. The sudden change in racing lane saw multiple drivers spinning and getting collected in the subsequent events.

RCR Austin Hill, who started the race on the back, was big name who got caught in the mess. It was an unfortunate incident for everyone involved considering there was no real aggression involved. Jeffery Earnhardt apologized soon after the incident for causing all the mess via his team radio.

I apologize
Jeffery Earnhardt said on team radio.

Jeffrey Earnhardt was involved in another wreck at Daytona

The star driver couldn’t catch a break on Saturday, as he was involved in another major wreck. But unlike the lap one incident this one caused significant damage to his car and ruined any hopes of him securing good points.

This incident occurred with just six laps left in the race with Earnhardt yet again making the costly mistake. He lost control on the apron and made contact with Anthony Alfredo, casing a chain reaction that collected multiple cars with Caesar Bacarella being a victim.

The incident cost Jeffery Earnhardt a top-10 finish that could have been counted as redemption for the lap one incident. Instead, he had to settle for a disappointing P28 finish and laid waste to all the hard work from the team to give him a solid car.
