Joe Gibbs Racing and 23XI Racing are two strong Toyota teams that has a unique partnership. Despite being rivals on the track, they work as sister teams and the drivers of both teams often sit together for competition meeting. But it not always rainbows and sun-shine during these meetings as recently there was a fight among the drivers.

JGR’s Xfinity Series driver Aric Almirola was suspended by the team after he got into a physical altercation with 23Xi’s Bubba Wallace. The veteran was given the punishment as the team reckons; he was guilty of instigating the fight. JGR driver and the co-owner of 23XI, Denny Hamlin was asked about the incident ahead of the Nashville race weekend.

The Toyota driver pointed out that he doesn’t really know much details about the fight as he had missed the meeting. His team let the incident to be handled by the JGR authorities and he believes they handled it as they saw fit. He isn’t concerned about the personal business of driver and didn’t have much to add to the discussion.

I think you answered it, I don’t really have a comment on it because I wasn’t there at the time. So, I don’t know what transpired, it’s all hearsay from my standpoint. At 23XI we let Joe Gibbs Racing handle it and they did what they saw fit. Again, I don’t know all the details because I didn’t want to get too much into the personal business and still don’t.

The JGR veteran was having a tough time on the track in the last few weeks and with his impressive pole win on Saturday, he has been able to get back to the good spot he is in. He looking to capitalize on it and secure a win.

[I’m] Really happy with this whole FedEx Camry team. They brought a great car today. Glad we were able to capitalize on it. The driver’s not been very good during qualifying session so far this year, but to get a good one today, that [number one] pit stall will help.

While Hamlin had an amazing qualification, Bubba Wallace had a disappointing one as he finished outside the top-20. The 23XI owner would be hoping that he can secure a win while his driver secures an impressive finish.
