Coming into the 2025 NASCAR Cup season, there is a lot of pressure on 23XI Racing owing to their 2024 performance and the charter lawsuit. They have to ignore all the noises around the lawsuit and fight hard for wins, potentially placing themselves in the championship chase. Helping rookie Riley Herbst to perform on top level put pressure on them.
No:23 Toyota Camry driver Bubba Wallace is one of the racers with the most pressure on them, as he hasn’t won a single race in two years while his teammate Tyler Reddick winning multiple races as well as the regular season championship. According to 23XI co-owner Denny Hamlin, Wallace has been locked in the off-season, with becoming a new father playing a role in it.
The 2025 season also marked a significant change to the No:23 team, with his crew chief Bootie Baker being moved another position. Hamlin is impressed with Charles Denike, the new crew chief, and believes he is someone who command respect.
Denny Hamlin brands Bubba Wallace’s new crew chief a rockstar
In the same podcast, further talking about Charles Denike, Hamlin pointed out that the new No:23 crew leader is a rockstar and was a great signing by the team. He expects that Denike-Wallace duo to produce a special performance in the 2025 season.
The 2025 season needs to be a career defining season for Bubba Wallace, as continuing to perform on an average level might hurt his future prospects. Going into Daytona 500, with the momentum of P5 run at Bowman Gray The Clash race, gives him some advantage.
