Denny Hamlin claims “he feels pretty strong” about ending championship drought in 2024

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin is without a doubt one of the greatest drivers ever in the sports history. He has won over 54 races in the Cup Series itself, making him the most successful NASCAR driver ever without a title. Since his debut in 2007, he has been in the conversation for the title, but unfortunately his every attempt ended in vain.
Denny Hamlin got another opportunity reset and fight for the title again when NASCAR introduced the Next-Gen cars in 2022. From the start of the new era, he has been among the most consistent drivers, but in the last two season is team fumbled when it mattered the most, the R-8. But winning three races so far in 2024, he has a feeling 2024 might be his year.
Recently in an interview with Fox Sports, he was asked about the bold comments he made to ex-RCR driver and broadcaster Clint Bowyer and how he felt about it. He pointed out that he still has the same confidence and momentum right now. Hamlin reckons he could win more races and the championship this season.
I feel pretty strong about our chances for sure. Certainly, it is a little different when you get put under the gun like that. But, you know, until I feel differently, then I'll let you know.Denny Hamlin told Fox Sports.
Denny Hamlin details why he is very consistent in the Next-Gen era
The three times Daytona 500 winner has been one of the most consistent drivers in the new era and it shows in the number of wins he has. While talking about the reason for his consistency, he pointed out that he and the team has been able to execute with very little mistake. He revealed that the less mistakes came from him the more his team has delivered results.
I feel as though we're as consistent as anyone. But when you make a mistake, whether it be on pit road or whatever, you're not going to be able to come back from that like you used to be able to before. So, it puts a big emphasis on the driver to make sure he has a clean race with no mistakes.Denny Hamlin said.
The JGR seems to be really confident in himself and the team in 2024. He and the No:11 crew earned all the praises with the work they have put in and if the form continues, hey would be contenders for the title without a doubt.
