It was a dream, but it’s hard. Even legacy teams dream of starts like this. For a start-up team to think about it, it’s probably a little pie in the sky, but it all comes together. Eventually you just keep putting really good people together, and you’re going to have these types of results…

Denny Hamlin shared his thoughts on how new aero-package affected racing at Darlington
In the latest episode of his Actions Detrimental podcast, Denny Hamlin talked about how the new aero package used at Darlington changed the race. Many predicted a chaotic event with the extra horsepower and new package changing the dynamic. It didn’t playout exactly as many expected.

Talking about the factor on his podcast, Hamlin admitted that the new package hasn’t fixed the overtaking issues, but admitted that only the good cars of the day was able to make moves. The sport needs work more to fix the track position racing.
It wasn’t drastically different. It was still very difficult to pass. That’s just this is a narrow track, so there’s just not many places to go to avoid the wake of the car in front of you. I thought the good cars could pass, and the mediocre ones were hanging on. But it was still in track position type racing. I just don’t know, you know, whether you’re really going to get away from that, no matter what you do, especially with as close in speed as all the cars are.
Denny Hamlin said.
It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the teams in the coming days, when NASCAR goes to more tracks with the new package. In the meantime, the sanctioning body needs to more R&D in the coming days to make the sport better.
