At the age of 44, Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin have the best opportunity he has ever had in his career to win the Championship. With six wins to his name, he is the racer with the most momentum coming into the 2025 Chmapionship-4 race, alongside teammate Chase Briscoe as well as Hendrick Motorsports duo of Kyle Larson and William Byron.
Denny Hamlin, who will most probably retire after his current contract with JGR runs out in two years, is seeking the support of the NASCAR fandom in his chase for the title. Being one of the most passionately hater racers of the sport, he believes he deserves the cheers this season as this might be his last short at the Cup while his young rivals will get more opportunity down the line.
Because if you root for the other drivers, they’re going to have a lot more opportunities to win a championship in the future than I will. So, if you want to see it happen, you’re probably gonna have to root for me this year.
Denny Hamlin told Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports.

The No:11 Toyota drivers is having a special season, as he already secured the 60wins milestone, extending his legacy. He has the opportunity right in front of him to add tohis already accomplished resume, with perfect execution of a race on Sunday. The veteran needs to be on his A-game as he has fumbled the bag multiple times in the past, after being on the same spot.
I like the opportunity that’s straight in front of us and not the what-ifs of next year. You just never know. All you know right now, and what I know, is that the opportunity is one week away.

Kyle Larson declares Denny Hamlin deserves to win the championship
Denny Hamlin’s championship rival, and the only former champion in this season’s finale, Kyle Larson had some kind words about the TRD drivers. The veteran racer pointed out that the 23XI Racing co-owner deserves to end his career as a stock car racing champion, and if he doesn’t win it for the No:5 team, he wants to see the No:11 team celebrating with the trophy.

He’s a deserving champion and nearing the end of his career, so if I couldn’t win, I’d love to see him because you’d think he’d have one on his resume. He deserves it.
Kyle Larson said.
But this feeling doesn’t mean, Larson is going to make easy for the No:11 driver to beat him, as he is determined to give everyone a tough competition. He also admitted that he believes everyone in the sport, from fans to senior officials, will feel happy, if the veteran racer wins the title for Joe Gibbs Racing.
It’s not going to stop me from wanting to beat him, but there’s a lot of reasons a Denny Hamlin championship would feel good. I truly think everybody in the sport would be happy, probably even the folks at NASCAR.
Kyle Larson added.
Many in the racing community will agree with the JGR veteran. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the No:11 team on Sunday, under the pressure. Will they prevail or choke like they have done multiple times in the past?
