Denny Hamlin recently welcomed his third child, his first son, to his family. The JGR veteran had to miss out on the Mexico City Cup Race due to the child being born around that time. Hamlin prioritized taking care of his fiancé Jordan Fish and newborn son and did not show up to the race weekend. Now, as the 44-year-old comes back to scoring well on the grid, he has revealed how he had to use Artificial Intelligence to finalize a name for his son.

Denny Hamlin shared some heartwarming images of his fiancée Jordan Fish and his newborn son on social media. The father-of-three also revealed the name of his son, Jameson Drew Hamlin, which wasn’t easy to decide on. Hamlin hilariously revealed that he had to use ChatGPT to get over 1000s of names and then come up with the best out of all the options.

Hamlin pointed out that his newborn son did not have a name until three days after being born. The 44-year-old revealed that his niece used technology, more specifically an AI chatbot, ChatGPT, and provided it 12 different combinations. The Veteran then created a spreadsheet with many names and then ran it through the chatbot again. This long but efficient process helped them finalize on a name with ease.

He didn’t get a name until three days later, We used technology to simplify it. [Then] create a spreadsheet with all the combinations of these names.

Denny Hamlin said on the Actions Detrimental Podcast.

The newborn son has the initials JD, which have a deep meaning, as Denny Hamlin revealed the importance of the initials. Hamlin reckoned that there were way too many people with JD initials in his life not to name his son with the same. The 44-year-old asserted that he bounced around a bunch of different names beginning with D and then finalized on Jameson Drew Hamlin.

There was just too many JDs in my life to not have him be a JD, The son of James, which is myself, is Jameson. …I bounced around a bunch of different D names, and Drew just felt best to me. There’s no rhyme or reason behind that.

Speaking of the importance of June 11, Denny Hamlin pointed out how he thought that the baby being born on this date would be kind of cool. However, Hamlin didn’t even remember that his first Cup Series win came on the 11th of June, 2006, at Pocono. As such, Jameson Drew Hamlin being born on the same day only added to the already special day of the year.

Trust me, we didn’t plan this to happen during Mexico City week or on the 11th, We were thinking, ‘You know, it would be kind of cool to have a June 11 baby,’ And I didn’t realize my first Cup win came on June 11 at Pocono. I didn’t realize until I saw the stat on NASCAR on Prime.

Denny Hamlin noted.

Hamlin has already returned to NASCAR Racing and put forth an impressive performance at Pocono. The father-of-three finished in P2 at Pocono as his luck seems to be at an all-time high after the newborn son’s birth. The 44-year-old has already achieved his spot in the playoffs for the 2025 season as he now aims to remain a strong contender for winning his maiden Cup Championship.
