Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin is set to face a challenging 2025 season with a new crew chief leading the No:11 Toyota Camry. Chris Gabehart who has been leading the team over half a decade was promoted to the role of competition director, with the primary goal of helping the team to end their title less streak in the Next-Gen era.

Many in the racing community expects Denny Hamlin to drop performance in the 2025 season owing to having a new crew chief as well as him getting older. In the recent episode of The Teardown podcast, senior NASCAR Journalist Jodan Bianchi has given his verdict on the topic. He believes Hamlin has got at least one more win in him.

No. He’s got one, he’s got at least one more in him… At least one more.

Jodan Bianchi said via The Teardown podcast.

His co-host Jeff Gluck though didn’t seem that sure about Hamlin securing a race win anytime soon. He pointed out that there is a possibility that the 2024 season might be the last time fans see the three times Daytona 500 winner in the victory lane.

Yeah I think it depends on how this year goes, right? Because getting a, as we’ve talked about I think in the last episode of this podcast we’ve had situations where we definitely didn’t see it coming in terms of like, somebody’s last career win, and we were caught off guard. Where you go back now and you go, ‘well, yeah, that really was.’ That could be very well the case.

Jeff Gluck highlight the peculiar situation Denny Hamlin is in at JGR

While further talking about the topic, Gluck explained the tough situation JGR is in at the moment. He pointed out that the TRD team failed to win races in the second half of 2024 and really wants to get back to speed early in the season. So, with a everyone in the team determined to get back to winning ways, with a new crew chief Hamlin is in a tough spot.

They hadn’t won in the entire second half of the year, even though they were close, obviously. You know, are they going to come out of the gate and be a winning organization again and have that speed early in the season. If not, if they’re struggling or something, everybody on the team is trying to get to victory lane, and then you have Hamlin with a new crew chief.

Jeff Gluck said.

The comments from Gluck shows the tough situation Denny Hamlin is in at Joe Gibbs Racing. It would be interesting to see how the No:11 team would perform in the 2025 season with the changes made to the team.
